We're excited about Christmas!!! We had fun picking out a tree and decorating it! The boys play with the ornaments everyday and I love hearing Kyle ask if he can turn the Christmas lights on the minute he wakes up!!! We love the Christmas Season!!!

First time in the ER...

We had a really scary experience the other night... My mom was in town visiting from Arizona and watching the boys with Shawn. I was at mutual helping the beehive class paint pumpkins. My phone was dead so I left it on the charger assuming I wouldn't be needed in the hour I would be gone... Boy was I wrong!

At about 7:45 My neighbor came running into the church, (some what calmly) and said that Kyle had pinched Kaden's finger in the door and that I needed to meet Shawn at urgent care as soon as I could. She was calm and helped me get my stuff together... all the while I was thinking it must not be that big of a deal...

When I got to Urgent care I saw Shawn walking out towards me with Kaden in his arms and half wondered if we were already on our way home.

Until I saw Shawn's face. Blood was all over him! It covered his t-shirt, from his neck down his sleeve and across to the blood soaked towel Shawn was using to keep Kaden's hand stationary.

Shawn jumped in the passenger side door and said, "We've gotta go to the ER." Instantly I obeyed and drove toward the freeway. I could hear Shawn Gently comforting Kaden saying, "It's ok, I know it hurts. Shh, It's ok." Kaden sat quietly biting his other fingers, occasionally letting out a whimper of pain.

I could barely look at my little boy. The thought of what happened was horrible!

I drove in a daze not even sure where to go... I'd never been to the ER and adding to the confusion I didn't know if the new hospital ER was up and running or if we should go to the old hospital.

We got off the exit and came to the Y where we either went Right to the old hospital or Left to the new one. We had made the decision to go to the old Emergency Room until Shawn changed his mind and said, "Go to the new hospital." Quickly I changed lanes and followed the road around for a couple of miles, until I could see the Lights of the hospital.

I dropped Shawn and the baby off at the front, parked and ran inside. We only waited a few minutes before they brought us back to a room. The nurse wanted to bandage Kaden's hand to slow the bleeding and keep him from messing with it, but the idea back fired! As quickly as she wrapped the hand Kaden snacked the gauze off pulling the finger tip back and exposing the severity of his wound. His little fingertip right below the nail bed was cut completely off, hanging on the underside by a small piece of flesh. We realized at that moment it was best to just sit and wait for the doctor who would do the X-Ray.

After the x-ray we were happy to hear that a specialist was on his way... a plastic surgeon specializing in severe wounds to the hand.

When he got there he explained that the bone had been fragmented but luckily it was the tip of his finger and wouldn't effect the growth plate.

After prepping for surgery, the doc sedated Kaden and began sewing his finger back on. I watched as the doctor removed the rest of the fingertip... took the nail off of the little piece of flesh, sewed the flesh back on his finger and then replaced the fingernail. Shawn and I tried to comfort Kaden through it all... although our attempts seemed to be futile. It took about an hour from when they sedated Kaden to when they bandaged him back up.

We are grateful to the many people who helped out that night and offered prayers for our family and especially for Kaden. He seems to be doing well and we are excited to go to the doctor on Thursday to see how everything has healed up.

Shawn did such a good job comforting Kaden and waiting for the Doctor at the ER!

This is a gross one... sorry!

The sedation was an awake sedation... it was really tough because Kaden would still cry and flail around.

When everything was finished Kaden was a little loopy... We waited about an hour for him to be his normal self and then took him home.

The next day he didn't seem bothered by the whole ordeal and only got mad when he couldn't pick things up with his bandaged hand.

"Oh, beautiful for spacious skies and amber waves of grain..." I am feeling very grateful for the beautiful place where I live! I love my home, my friends, and my family! Check out this view on my way home from work! I love it!!!

It is a little unclear but so pretty, with the vast sky seeming to go on forever!!!
I have really enjoyed gardening again this year! I think that I grew 15 pumpkins, eight cucumbers and countless tomatoes!! I bottled 14 jars of tomatoes and have 2 boxes left to make spaghetti sauce! If it wouldn't have frozen outside I would have had so many more!!!

I love eating the produce I grew myself!

Kaden and Kyle love the outdoors too!!! I'm worried about the winter and being cooped up inside!

Rexburg!!!

I loved my time at school in Rexburg! I miss the country dancing Millhollow Restaurant and most of all the Amazing people I met along the way! I visited Rexburg for the first time in a LONG time... and it really felt like home!

We visited the Butikofer Family who I lived with for a time and spent much of my first year with... It was so fun to catch up and see all of the new additions to the property. Kyle got to collect the eggs from the chicken coop, fed the dog and chased the cat around! He was in heaven. I felt love and acceptance and enjoyed seeing that life goes on but some things remain the same. I hope to visit more often!

Later that evening, my good friend and mission companion, Ann, had a baby shower. She looks great and very happy! I'm so excited for her and Jeremy and loved seeing and spending time with her family too!!!

This was the busiest week of my life!!! I was so overwhelmed with the task of motherhood, house keeper and full-time builder/artist for Brooklyn's playground! But in the end I wouldn't have done it differently! What an amazing experience! It was empowering and fulfilling, I learned a lot about tools and wood working as well as what an amazing community I live in! Each day there were about 400+ volunteers, ranging from food prep, general clean-up, to skilled laborers and artists. It was amazing to see people with full-time jobs, there everyday giving their all to help the community. I met amazing people, learned valuable skills and coveted many awesome tools!!! I never knew how nice it was to have two drills... One to pre-drill and one to screw in!!! I''m spoiled for life by my week of using Makita impact drivers and routers!!! Someday I WILL have a sweet workshop full of stellar woodworking tools!!!

This is a really cool story...

I chose to be in charge of the barn component for the playground... my plans showed barn specs with a sign that said, SMITH FARM EST. 1920. and I assumed that it was what was wanted on the front of the barn... before I started drawing out the sign I double checked to make sure it was correct and Johnny said he wasn't sure what should go there but that the Ward Family donated the land (their farm) years ago to the city so that children could play there for generations to come. The more checking that I did the more I learned that Ward Farm would be the chosen name on the barn sign... For those of you who don't know my maiden name was ward, thus allowing me a secret signature on my work as well as a cool connection to the ward family who so generously donated such a beautiful piece of property!!

I loved being able to embellish the barn inside and out...

The cute owls were inspired by a picture in Brooklyn's own room! (Brooklyn is the little girl the park was inspired by)

Wilbur was supposed to go on the outside with Charlotte the spider but they settled comfortably inside the barn...

The snake wall was so tricky! I hurt for days from all the weird muscles I pulled hanging off the wall, drilling with all my might!!!

It was so cool to watch all the tops be put on with this crane!!!

Shawn volunteered many hours after work with me! He is a very skilled builder and I was grateful for his love and support!

O even got the Activity day girls out to help... they loved it!

They helped clean up and organize the wood scraps... every job was as important as another!

These were the designers from Leathers Associates that I worked along side over the six days (72 hrs) I was there!!! They were patient and helpful teachers... and it couldn't have been done with out them!

Our drop off to the MTC was less than smooth!!! It was a nightmare!!! We broke down at every stoplight from University Parkway exit all the way to the MTC!!! Someone really didn't want Jake to get there!!! But all was well and he made it safely! After a few tears of joy... ha ha ha we waved our good bye's and he was gone!

My mom was supposed to go home that Saturday but surprised me instead showing up at my house Monday... We played at the pool and put her to work!!!

Kyle is such a ham!!!

We had a get-together at grandma's and grandpa's house... it was great!!! I know Jake felt supported and very loved! I loved hearing everyone's advice and was glad to be apart of it all!

We really enjoy our Zaugg family campout every year!!! The food is always amazing and we love to spend time together!!!

We had fun skiing, swimming and being splashed by water... boy was it freezing!!!

Kaden didn't want anything to do with the water! He and Kyle weren't feeling very good.

I'm way behind again on my blogging... sorry! After our trip visiting the great grandparents the kids and I continued on to visit the grandparents in Arizona! We had so much fun with the family! The boys loved their cousins and I really enjoyed my parents and siblings!!!

I love passing the nigh time bed routine on to my family when I visit! Kyle likes it too!!! Especially cause grandpa falls asleep with him when they sing songs!

We went to some little ponds to swim... the water was so nice!

Fourth of July was a blast! We had a rain storm and tons of fireworks!!! Thanks to all the people who came and enjoyed the evening with us!!!

Kaden slept soundly through the Bangs!!!

The kids loved the ride together... Luke even said it was, "The best day of his life!!!" (It worried his mom a bit... he's just like Shawn!!!)

It's Father's day and I'm grateful for two amazing dad's specifically, my dad and my husband and father of my children!! But I also want to thank so many people who helped me along the way as father figures!!!

I've been blessed with so many mentors in my life from amazing bishops, church leaders, mission presidents and grandfather's to the many dad's of my friends!!! Thank you all for your love and support over the years!!!

Dad, a message specifically to you, you are an amazing father, the best one for me!!! Growing up I wasn't very appreciative of your sleuthing skills/tactics, catching me in all kinds of awkward situations, but as I have grown up I am grateful for your constant love and consistently high expectations for me!!! You are easy to talk and always willing to give a listening ear no matter the time of day or night!!! I have never met anyone who would would rather talk than sleep... but you always seem excited to take my calls! (even when you are so sleep deprived!!!) Thank you for being you!!! You're a superior father!!!

We are excited that summer is finally here!!! (although it doesn't feel like it most days yet!!!)

We went camping and enjoyed the beautiful night in the wild!!! Shawn you are the best campin' buddy! I always feel safe and secure when I'm with you!!! I know you would protect us at all cost!!!

The mosquitoes were horrid but the night was beautiful!!!

Kyle had a fever of a hundred and two before we went but I figured he would be sick camping or no camping!!! The next day he was much better!!!

The boys worked on the fire as I put up the tent! They got it roaring'!!!

The boys love the bath!!!

We went to a friend's wedding!!! Congratulations Nate and Bryanna!!!

In our library we enjoyed the sensory safari!!!

You could touch and take pictures with all the animals!!!

This was a huge snake and Kaden didn't seem to mind sitting by him!!! (all the animals were real but stuffed)

I decided to re-do the kitchen cabinets!!! Kyle helped me spray them down before I sanded!!! It was so much work and I stressed through out the project because my house was a disaster!!! I like how they turned out but I have one more thing to do before I post a picture!!!

Wa wa wa!!! Kaden is still a cry-er but he is so cute sometimes it just makes e laugh!! (not always though!!!)

I like it better when he is content!!!

Shawn put in a sprinkler system! This hole was huge and so deep when he was done digging it! I was impressed!

Whenever I pick up a project kyle wants to do whatever I'm doing!!!

SO... he had to paint too!!!

I was asked to paint a head board and foot board for some friends... I was supposed to match the blanket on the ground with the basketball and baseball... it turned out pretty cool!

I took Kyle to the dentist for his first cleaning! He did great and I knew his teeth were in good shape!!! I really got burned though when I assumed he was on our insurance and found out when I got the hundred dollar bill that he wasn't!!! Not Cool!!! Especially since I already knew his teeth were healthy!!! Ahhh!!!

Grandma Jelaire gave Kyle a cool life jacket and Kyle loves it!!! He swims a few times a week and has become so confident in the water!!!

Whirl wind of craziness!!!

So, having two boys, I know that I'm in for trouble!!! I am told that growing up I was always hurting my mouth and splitting my lip open. Now as Kyle has entered his third year of life I realize that he has a lot of me in him! He's daring like I was (of course Shawn was crazy daring too!) Sleeps horribly like I do, waking up with every sound in the house, and boy does he cu his mouth open all the time!!!

This doesn't show the severity of the split on his lip... It was bad!!! He was supposed to be sleeping but instead he was messing around on his bed. We think he fell on the wooden bed frame and landed on his lip. The inside of his lip was a gaping hole about a quarter inch wide with flesh exposed! It bled like crazy and I was sure he needed stitches! Our friend who is a family practice doctor was so awesome and took a look at it and said it would heal ok on its own... Thank goodness!!!

Our nightly routine sometimes seems to take forever... we brush teeth, say a prayer read 2 books and sing 2 or 3 songs! I know someday Kyle won't want to sit with me and read stories or sing so I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts!!!

Kaden's growing up so fast! What a sweet boy he is! Right now he is figuring out his mouth... making fish lips and popping his tongue! It's so cute!!!

He has also noticed the kitty! When tiger is blessed with a chance to come inside, She looks for attention where ever she can get it. Tiger circles Kaden as he sits with arms out stretched, fingers ready for anything he can grab! It's very amusing to watch and she seems to like it!!!

We tried to take Kyle fishing! It wasn't as fun as I expected... Kaden blew out bad... It was very windy and it took an hour or longer to get to our destination. We didn't catch any fish and left after a half an hour!

I enjoyed the pictures though!!!

We had a little get together for Kyle's Birthday... I started a tradition of making a cake for my kids on their birthday... This birthday it was spiderman!!!

A Trip to Grandma's House

When going on trip (for a night) to Grandma's house I need to bring...

EVERYTHING!!!

I can't believe how much crap comes along with two kids when you are only staying one night away from home! It's amazing!!! It was so nice to see Grandma and Grandpa... They are so wise and inspirational! I love them so much!

We came down to give a little something to Aunt Shelly, who works so hard on our Christmas Calendar every year...

I think she was pleased with the gift... My family and I want to thank her for all the time and effort she spends making a of our memories each year!!!

I participated in the ART WALK in April. It's a way to show and sell your art to the public. Overall it was a good experience and now I have all this stuff created and ready for gifts!!!

TIME!!!

So it seems that there aren't enough hours in a day! If I just had more time I could accomplish way more than I do... yet I'm up at 6 with the kids everyday! I don't get it!!! Well since I haven't posted for a while I put a bunch of pictures and am just gonna give a couple of comments.

This is my new room! I just painted it this weekend! It was a challenge to find time with the two boys but I like how it turned out!

Kyle went to a party for his friend Izzy! He had so much fun!!!

Kaden is growing so fast!

Kaden found his hands and doesn't stop chewing on them unless you are willing to give him one of yours!!!

Kyle is doing his "Da na, Da na" fingers... This is what he does when he is about to get you!

I can't get Kaden to sleep unless I nurse him, somehow Shawn can in many various ways!

Kyle had a friend over and they had a blast!

Our neighbor brought back a fish from his fishing trip. Kyle loved it!

Growing Fast!

Kyle is starting to get used to his brother... he is a little nicer and not as rough, but every once in a while I have to intercede and save Kaden from certain death! Like when Kyle stepped over Kaden, (which he's not supposed to do) slipped on a ball and stepped on Kaden's head as he fell to the ground. Kaden freaked out and burst into tears and Kyle walked straight into time out with no complaints...

Kaden is growing fast! At his two month appointment he weighed 13lbs and 5oz! What a Big Boy! He smiles a lot now and makes the cutest noises! (When he is happy, which isn't to often!)

We blessed Kaden last week! It was a beautiful blessing! Afterward we had our family come back to our house for a big breakfast... The food was good and the company was even better!!!

Kyle always wants to lay by Kaden... sometimes he wants to lay on him... Yikes!!!

This barely shows the real damage... Coming out of church Sunday Kyle missed a step, dove into the concrete stair and then hit the sidewalk. My aunt Shelly said she thought he broke his neck cause his body lay there bent backward, his back arched and neck contorted. When I saw the bump I was worried. It stuck out about an inch and instantly bruised. Shelly kept saying, "Will he be ok?" and I wasn't sure... Shawn insisted that he would be fine and we went home. This boy is gonna keep us on our toes!!!

Uncle Paul was so cute! He held Kyle and put a bag of snow on his head until Kyle felt better...
Kaden's middle name Charles is after My grandma's dad Charles Haynie... it was so nice to have them here for the blessing!

MIKE GESSFORD

My coach, Mike Gessford passed away January 14th. It was a shock to us all. He was only 49, a father of two and mentor to so many. I feel for his wife Judy who I'm sure feels like she lost the world... I've thought a lot about his passing and regret not having expressed my gratitude to him for all his love and support over the years. We miss him so much and offer our condolences to his family.

We had so much fun together!

Our team was so awesome!!! In my four years running, we never lost a track meet!!! Undefeated!!!

Coach meant so much to me... I've kept in touch with him these last 11 years and will miss him dearly!

I can't believe how quickly time flies!!! Kaden is already 2 months old!!! He is smiling and baby talking! He blows spit bubbles and is so cute!!! All that being said... Kaden is still a little screamer! He has a real quick temper and is still really difficult at times!

Kyle and Kaden both look so sweet and innocent, it gives me hope that they will be some day!!!

Kyle grabbed my sweater and put it on... a little femmi but adorable huh?!

We had a huge snow storm and played outside...

One of our favorite things to do in the winter is to go rollerskating. Kyle usually rides his bike but he tried skates once... we'll wait a while to try again!

Kyle loves his brother... but he is really rough... we try to hide Kaden sometimes so he can take a nap, but kyle always finds him!

I can't believe that Christmas is just around the corner!!! We have been so blessed this year!! Our new baby is so cute but man, he is a terror!!! He screams and cries so much, doesn't sleep at night and throws up just like Kyle used to... With Christmas almost here, I am really glad I got ready before Kaden was born... I am exhausted and sick, so getting out to shop would have been hard!

A New Baby Boy!!!

IT'S A BOY!!! For those of you who didn't know... we had a boy!!! I say that because our doctor, my dad's brother let the secret slip of what we were having, to his siblings and parents who in turn told their children... making Shawn and I the only ones on my side of the family to still be surprised in the delivery room!!! Terrible huh!!! But at least everyone kept it a secret for us!!!

The delivery went well... I had our little man four hours from when my water was broken. Actually the nurses were trying to slow my labor down but our baby was ready to be free! We almost had him with out the doctor!!! I'm recovering much quicker with this one and hope to bypass the baby blues all together!

We finally picked a name, he will be known as Kaden Charles Zaugg... Charles after his great great grandpa Charles Burras Haynie... an amazing person I learned about this year who I never want to forget!

We are so grateful for the help we've received this last week from friends, neighbors and family! I wouldn't have been able to survive this first week with out the help of my mom and neighbor Jen who have done so much for me.

Thanks also for your thoughts and prayers!!! We love you all!!!

I'm so excited for Halloween!!! We've got Trunk or treat tonight and Kyle's gonna be so cute!!! He's a tiger and he plays it perfectly, growling and scratching at things! It's a little big, but super warm and freakin' adorable!!! Also, I get to debut my skeleton costume!!! I can't wait! I haven't tried it on yet, so hopefully it fits!!!

Here's a picture, perfect for Halloween!!! You may think this was face paint but nope, it's blood!!! I put Kyle down for his normal afternoon nap and he woke up really upset... I went in to check on him and this is what peered out at me from under the bed. I was horrified! There was blood on his hands, all over the blankets, on his socks, and all over his face.

He kept crying, "tissue, tissue" so I deduced that he had had a bloody nose in his sleep and rubbed it everywhere! I stripped him down, threw him in the bath and gave him a popsicle to cool the warm flowing blood... the blood stopped running and I got him scrubbed clean!

Well, boys will be boys right??? Yeah, I know, kids can be daring but this kills me... I told him he was gonna get hurt if he jumped from the top of the couch onto the floor, but when it didn't happen, he just kept jumping!!! This is his READY position...

Sometimes the only way to convince Kyle to let me wash his hair is to bribe him with a picture and crazy hair! He loves to see himself in the camera or in the mirror. Cute!

Doesn't it look like a real Pumpkin Patch? I LOVE IT!!! The pumpkins are almost orange... I know there is only a few more days until Halloween, but I don't care! I just love that I'm gonna carve my own pumpkins that I grew myself!!! Even if it's the night before Halloween!!!

THREE MORE WEEKS TO GO UNTIL THE BIG DAY!!! YEP DELIVERY DAY!!!
If all goes as planed we will go stay with Uncle Nathan on the 11th of November and then get induced on the 12th! Crazy Huh??? I can't believe it!!! I feel very prepared though... scared out of my mind, but I've gotten tons done in the last few months and I'm ready!!!

Shawn has helped a ton by putting in a beautiful custom closet... that freed up so much space allowing me to move things from other closets and drawers!!! I organized under the bathroom sink, under my bed, the linen closet and also brought in baby stuff from the shed! Yipee!!! Thank-you Shawn!!!

So this shirt doesn't show how massive my belly bump is... but it does show the beautiful organized closet, stuffed full of all my clothes!!!

Here's the big belly from the front... crazy huh??? Not really attractive but it gives you an idea of the hugeness if you don't mind the nakedness!!!

Shawn and Kyle are so cute together!!! Shawn was pushing Kyle on the swing... and when Kyle came back towards him he would fling himself back off the chair... Like Kyle had kicked him across the backyard! From upstairs all I could hear was hysterical laughter.

We watched my cousins while the aunts, uncles, and grandparents on the Ward side went to Hawaii. It taught me how much moms do when their kids grow up... Kyle did really well especially since we were in the car so much!!! At home he would entertain himself in strange ways... like climbing the fridge!!! What a goof!!!

Kyle loves to steal the phone and call the last dialed number... which usually is Shawn, Amber or Jen! This particular time it was Jen... I think!

Summer is Over!!! But not in Pocatello...

Well, this post is gonna be super long... it's been forever since I last posted! Not having the Internet at home makes blogging very hard... but anyway... The summer came to a close and was awesome! TALK ABOUT "SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST" these last few weeks have been wonderful! The weather is beautiful during the day and the nights are cooling down! Last year it snowed in September and this year we're in the 90's!!! Can't beat that!!!

As far as the pregnancy goes, I am very uncomfortable because of my huge belly, varicose veins and heart burn... my legs kill after long days... and sometimes I get charlie horses in my calves at night that rip me out of sleep and send me into fits of sobs until they subside!!! Other that those few things I am feeling great!!!

I have hit the "nesting" phase of my pregnancy and I am super motivated to get things done! I have completed so many projects (dragging my friend Jen along with me for some of them) cleaned things that have been neglected for a long time and I'm pretty close to being ready for Halloween and Christmas!!! I knew that I wouldn't be motivated once the baby got here so I've jumped into it all now!!!

I am super excited about a few things... as you will see in my pictures!

After me and Kyle broke our first home made swing, I decided to make a new one of cloth, rope, and metal! I sewed the seat with really thick canvas, Shawn welded triangle hardware handles, and the Corringtons gave us some rope! It turned out great, Kyle loves it and we've had no accidents yet!!!

My pumpkins are the pride and joy's of my life right now... (of course my family brings me joy too... just differently) I've been unsuccessful with gardening the last two years and never collected much produce... so this year when some random seeds I dropped in the ground sprouted plants, and then super late in the season grew pumpkins, I became elated!!! I check them daily to see their changes and love to help the bees pollinate the female flowers! Yes, for those of you who don't know there are female and male flowers... I will stop there, otherwise I will give to much info on everything pumpkin. (I can even give interesting comparisons about the appearance of male and female flowers to males and females!) Ha ha!

I've got about 7 pumpkins of varying shapes and sizes!

This is my biggest pumpkin!!! About 19 or 20 inches across... Wohoo!!!

We got to see our friends the Whittiers!!! Korven and Kyle had tons of fun!!!

The boys had fun playing on the bean bag! We will miss them, Again! Good luck in Cali!

Here's my big belly picture for those of you who want to see it! Those who don't, close your eyes!! I was 30 weeks along.

Avrie, my niece, was just adopted by Mike Ottley, previously her step dad, and we got to celebrate with their family a couple Weeks ago... Avrie was insistent on having a cake... which was made by Anabelle, Mikes mom. It was a beautiful chocolate cake with caramel kisses all around it. Well, as mike was bringing it out to serve, Avrie swung right into it, knocking it out of Mike's hands, all over the grass. Avrie jumped off the tree swing and started to cry... Until someone said, "just let the kids eat it off the grass!" We did exactly that and it was delicious!

We borrowed the Zaugg's motor home for a little weekend adventure! We had a blast once we found our camp site and got the fire going!!!

It got very cold in the camper the first night until we figured out how to run the heater...

The Eastern Idaho State Fair came and went... it was fun, but different than years past! Brandi, Avrie, Kyle and I all went together. In the past Shawn and I have gone to the Demolition Derby or a concert, and I would enter artwork, but this year was different. Low Key and simple...
Kyle loved the animals and adored his cousin and aunt!!! They always had to be in his sight or he would call for them over and over again.

While I worked on crafts, I had to be creative with my entertainment for Kyle. He liked this one!!

While daddy and the Corringtons were both out of town for the week, I was very bored and burnt out of parenting! I remember this particular day I was at my whits end. Knowing that giving up was not an option, I got creative with my cooking... Since Jen and her family were in Disneyland, Kyle and I made Mickey Mouse pancakes! Kyle loved it and they seemed to make me feel better too!!!

In our lonely week we also went to the pool!!! For the first 25 minutes we had the kiddie pool to ourselves!!! It was really fun!

A little later Kyle choked on some water and threw up in the pool. A few minutes went by and I noticed some life guards looking very closely at the little chunks floating in the water. Then they got out a bio-hazard bucket and I realised the puke was a bigger deal than I had thought. Instantly I grabbed Kyle and we booked it out of the facility. They cleared the kiddie pool and shut it down for an hour... but we were already gone!!!

After Kyle's nap at home we came back and enjoyed the pool for another hour and a half! Although some people were surely disappointed from the pool being closed, we had a great day! Sorry for the inconvenience!

I painted the other side of Kyle's room... It was a lot of work, but Jen helped with Kyle and I got it done!

We went looking for tad-poles... but we saw snakes and minnows instead!

I can't believe that summer is almost over... in fact for some kids it is over!!! How sad!!! Although we didn't do much traveling we had an awesome summer!!! We've gotten to do some fun things, see family and friends from all over, and our local friends have kept us entertained and very happy!!!

I made Kyle a duvet quilt for Christmas... I know that I'm a little early... but I didn't think I would be motivated to work on it being nine months pregnant of just after having a baby... so there's no time like the present! Plus, now Kyle won't even remember it when he opens it!!!

My son WON"T sleep in his toddler bed... Usually he sleeps under it but occasionally I find him in weird places like here in the hall. Strangely he doesn't mind carpet face!

Kyle has to do everything his friends do... even if its out of his comfort zone... can you see in his face the question, "Why am I up here?"

From birth I called my friends children Kyle's friends... well now that he's a big boy, he really has friends! When he sees them he has to hug them and play with them... I practically have to pull Kyle away from Landon, Ashleigh, and Kylie each day! He is blessed with very good friends and cousins/family too!!!

I love when Shawn takes Kyle to "Ride da Jeep." Kyle smiles from ear to ear and can't get enough!!!

Kyle is very sweet natured. I used to be worried that he was going to torture animals when as a teen... He was so rough with the cats and seemed to get pleasure from teasing them... But now he's very gentle with animals. Even these two week old puppies.

My garden flopped this year. I was so excited cause I had a pumpkin growing... but it shriveled up and died soon after this picture. BUMMER!!!

For my anniversary Shawn picked these wild sun flowers!!! I think they are beautiful!!!

I was so excited to hear my mom was coming up to visit!!! I only had a day notice because she was already on her way when I found out, but that was enough time to get the house clean!!!

We had so much FUN!!! Kyle loved playing with Grandma Jelaire!!!

He loved her so much that since she's been gone he has seen countless women who look similar and excitedly pointed them out and yelled Gra-ma!!"

I love her so much too!!! But no one compares to my mom in looks or awesomeness!!!

I'm so glad she could come!!!

Shawn took everyone for a ride in the jeep!!! Separately of course... it is only a two seat-er!!!

We went to Lava Hot Springs after a fun prenatal appointment. The water was nice but it was a bit chilly outside. Kyle had fun in the water... He didn't even mind gagging over and over on water until he threw up. (Ronja decided to be a little less rough with him after that... It was pretty funny!!!)

I bought Kyle a little tube for a dollar fifty... it was a great investment!!!

While we were in Washington it was my sister in Law Karrie's Birthday!!! She was taking turns staying with Grandma Pat so she was gone most of the day. Sadly at 11:00pm we still hadn't sung happy birthday to her. In Karrie's absence we sang a heart felt Happy Birthday and Avrie and Kyle blew out her candles.

Since we were so close to Seattle and I had never been, I asked Shawn to take me for a pre-anniversary date.

While we were there we toured the harbor on a boat. It was fun!
I loved the view from the water!

Can you guess which boat we took? Probably not because I was surprised to find out it was the crappy little one on the left... so I didn't take a picture of it! Ha ha!!

Kyle loved the toys at Aunt Kath's house in Enumclaw!!! But really what child wouldn't???

Anna was an awesome baby-sitter!!! She watched Kyle for us so we could go to Seattle!!! Thanks Anna!!!

CLOUDY WEATHER... CLOWDY EMOTIONS!

The weather has been whirling mixed signals at us. We have super hot beautiful days... not a cloud in the sky and then in a moment it turns dark and cloudy... thundering in the night. Oh I love it!!!

Strangely, the dark clouds and stormy weather has brought with it some gloomy happenings. We got a call on Sunday, two weeks ago, that Shawn's Maternal Grandma had had a stroke and was in the hospital and that her health was declining fast. Thursday at 6:00pm I was told that Shawn's sister was going out to Washington and there was room in the car if we wanted to go. I raced home packed up some things and were on the road by 9:00pm.

The drive was long and emotional... we weren't sure if Grandma Pat would survive the night. When we got to Enumclaw we went straight to the Hospice and were able to spend some time with Grandma Pat. The time we spent with her was priceless. Tears streamed down our faces as we watched her play with Kyle, as she gently touched his leg and tummy with her only functioning hand. Then he sang I am a child of God to her and we left with heavy hearts not knowing if it would be the last time we would see her alive.

What a miracle it was to see her. We made it there in time to hug her and tell her we loved her. We watched as she signed I love you to each of us and told us through charts and letters that we are future child will be a boy!

That was the last day that Grandma Pat was resonsive. She passed away on Monday this last week and the Funeral was on Friday. What a loving Heavenly Father to allow us to share those moments with her at the end of her life. We love her and miss her dearly.

On this particular day though we had a beautiful double rainbow right outside our house.

Our trip to Enumclaw was beautiful in so many ways. Kyle loved being there and didn't seem to mind the sadness around him.

He played very well with his cousins and loved the many toys and activities!

I look hideous but oh well!

I'M SO BLESSED!!!
I'VE GOT AN AMAZING FAMILY,
THE ONE I GREW UP WITH AND THE ONE I MARRIED INTO,
AWESOME FRIENDS, AND A BEAUTIFUL HOME!!!

Recently it was my birthday. I thought it would be a lonely day because Shawn was out of town, Jen my neighbor (who I rely on for entertainment) was on vacation and my day plans were just to go to lunch in the park with Kyle.

BOY WAS I WRONG!!! I had a random visit from some girls from church... who stayed for 4 hours... I received birthday calls all day long from wonderful friends and family... and the evening was a BLAST with my two sister in laws!!!

I've been spoiled by loving friends and family not just for remembering me, but with their thoughtfulness and generosity! Thank-you to all who made this week stupendous! I couldn't have felt more loved or remembered!!!

We celebrated my birthday as a family when Shawn got home... He made me angel food cake... which he learned was kinda tricky... with home made whip cream and strawberries! It was scrum-didily-umptious! Thanks babe!!!

We got to celebrate pioneer day my favorite way... close to home and for next to nothing!!! There was a big celebration within walking distance from home... I brought 5 dollars and ended up only needing about a dollar... There was so much for Kyle to do and most of it was free!!!

This was like a mini swings ride at amusement parks... but there were no buckles to hold them in and only four kids went at a time. The kids would swing at a pretty good speed in a circle. A pretty cool invention if you ask me!!! Kyle rode it twice and would have more but it was nap time!!!

There are times when parenting can be very difficult!!! Your patience is tried over and over by an obstinate, stubborn child, who just won't give in... but thankfully it is balanced with the really cool, very hysterical moments!!! Kyle lately cracks me up with the funny things he says and does... I thought maybe it would lift somebody's day by posting it on my blog!!!

First a story...
Kyle is all of a sudden more interested in body parts. He can name almost every part of his body and lately has been more curious about learning some of mine... sometimes it's a little awkward!

Bums are really funny to him and he is always pointing out the bums on things... like the cat was walking around and he kept saying Kitty's bum... which is funny that he would make that connection...

So the other day I was going potty and as I was pulling up my pants he came running in the bathroom... my butt was hanging out and all of a sudden I felt two pincher fingers in my very personal crack! To my amazement he started laughing and said, "pinch mommy's bum..." I jumped out of the way and couldn't help but laugh!

Kyle has learned that shorts are like a pocket... at least for a moment anyway... and then things fall out!

On this day he was trying to carry his cars in his shorts! It was so amusing to watch him walk, bent over trying to keep them from falling out!

Kyle loves to be in pictures, even when mom is documenting the goofy things he's doing!

Our neighbors have chickens and we love feeding them! Usually we feed them through the fence, worms and bugs we find, but this was a special treat!

Kyle got to visit them in their yard and feed them corn from a cup! He loved it! And yes he noticed their bums right away!

ZOO TIME!!

We decided to make a last second trip to Utah to visit the Hoogle Zoo. Shawn's sisters love the zoo and wanted to go, so we tagged along. It was really fun! The Zoo was packed, extremely hot, and Kyle really needed a nap!!! But we saw lots of cool animals and ate grrrreat! pizza afterwards!!! Thanks guys!!!

Kyle loves uncle Mike! But when he was really cranky uncle Mike would say, "be nice to mommy..." and Kyle would get mad. It was nice to have help!
This was Kyle's favorite part of the zoo... riding the carousel. Rylie was such a big help all day!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!
What a fun weekend we had on the fourth! Our street was like a war zone! People brought out the heavy artillery! Unlike war and the sadness and tragedy war brings... our battle brought smiles and shrieks of laughter with every boom and bang!!! We are proud to live in this nation and love celebrating our freedom!!!

Kyle is so silly! He loves putting on our clothes and feeling big!!!

I tried to be festive... so I made a flag angel-food cake. It was delicious!!!

We have enjoyed our friends the Corrington's so much this year!!! We had a blast celebrating with them and their family on the third of July!!!

The fireworks were great Sunday night! We had some of Shawn's family over and our friends the Jones' too... What a great group to celebrate with!

NO FEAR!!! It was bound to happen to our kid... with Shawn as his dad, and me as his mom, but man could he really be this fearless???

The Jones Family had a big party! It was so fun!!! Allred came and played a private concert, there was a bouncy castle slide pool for the kids and lots of food!!! Thanks guys!!!

Maddix was hungry and a but cranky... but Shawn calmed him right down!!! He was like putty in Shawn's hands!!! I think Shawn is ready for number 2!

John did great! It was fun catching up and hearing his awesome music!

We are starting to potty train Kyle. So far he gets the pooping in the toilet...we just got to work on the peeing too... He spends a lot of time outside... so when he has an accident there isn't as much for mommy to clean up!!!

WE LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!!!
Our first camp out was great!!! I didn't sleep terribly well but we had a blast!!!

Kyle loved the tent... except when he had to sleep in it!!!

We had a great breakfast and this bench was perfect for a little table!!!

It was hard to tell weather kyle liked the jeep or the hammock better... probably the jeep but it was close!

What a goof!!! He snacked the whole time and loved the fire... just like his dad!!!

Big Hair Cut!!!

The big news of this post is Kyle's big hair cut!!! It was a shock to many including Shawn... who said, "You cut off all his hair? Why?" And to answer that question... because Kyle's hair grows so quick and I have to trim it every month. Kyle hates getting his hair cut and fights me the whole way!!! So I though it would be a good change for summer and a break from hair cutting for a while!!! He looks cute but I do miss the long locks!

WE VISITED OUR FRIENDS CARLI, TYLER, AND AVRIE AND THEIR NEW ADDITION MADDIX!!! KYLE AND AVRIE HAD SO MUCH FUN ON THE TRAMP SINGING AND JUMPING!!!

KYLE LOVES BABIES AND ALWAYS WANTS TO HOLD THEM. HE INSISTED ON HOLDING MADDIX. HE WILL BE SUCH A GOOD BIG BROTHER!!!

I MADE A CAR SEAT COVER A COUPLE WEEKS AGO... I WANTED TO MAKE IT REALLY GIRLIE WITH LOTS OF PINK... SINCE WE ALREADY HAVE BOY STUFF... BUT IN THE STORE I JUST COULDN'T GET MYSELF TO BUY PINK FABRIC. WHO KNOWS MAYBE IT'S A SIGN THAT WE'RE NOT HAVING A GIRL...

We had so much fun in Wyoming visiting Mandy, Emma, and Nate! I loved watching our kids play and they cooked the best food for us every night!!! We were very spoiled!

So here's my news!!! I'm pregnant!!! Yipee!!! 15 weeks today!!! Mandy is 7 weeks ahead of me, although you can't tell!!!

Kyle and Emma loved the slides at the park. It was so cold though we couldn't stay long... Our noses were running and our ears hurt from the wind!

Kyle and Emma played so well together! There was the occasional tiff but for the most part they had a blast!

My boy is always eating... kinda like me!!!

Kyle loved the Guinea Pigs... he called them bunny pigs.

So Freakin Cute!!!

My favorite thing was watching the two of them sing together on the hearth. They put on a great show!!!

I painted for the Reddish Family this Dr. Seuss Room. I loved getting to know Dayna and recreating a master illustrator's work, but my mural painting has come to an end for a little while... I am warn out!!! Being pregnant I get so sick!!! The evenings are terrible and when I over exert myself I really feel awful. So it will be a while before I take on another job.

I love Dr. Seuss and his insane creativity!!! What fun characters!!!

We love visiting the Ottley Family!! We got to watch Avery play softball. Here she is as the catcher!

It was so cold! We tried to stay warm but we wussed out and went home in the middle of the game.

KYLE"S BIRTHDAY

We celebrated Kyle's birthday a bit late but had a great day. We barbecued hot dogs and hamburgers... eat cake and other luscious food and hung out in the back yard. Kyle loved his party and thanks everyone for his fun gifts!

I decided to do a monster cake to represent our little monster entering his terrible two's! Kyle's favorite movie is Monster's inc. so I made a little bit slimmer Mike Wazowski character. It was fun!

Kylie was keeping Kyle from attacking the cake before it was time!

It was funny, Kyle blew out his candles right when I lit it and then when I got it lit again so we could sing to him the wind blew it out. We had a good laugh about it.

What a big bite! He loved the frosting!

Kyle loved his gifts... he really went nuts over the m&m's.

We had fun watching him get excited about his new toys!

I can't believe how fast he is growing up!!!

It's been a crazy ride these last two years. Parenthood is a wonderful/miserable ball of insanity all rolled up together... making it hard to distinguish the good from the bad. I love it at times when my Son give me sweet kisses and hugs. Then in the middle of the night when my boy won't stop heaving his guts up for two hours strait and I've used every last Pj top because there is throw up covering all the others... I don't so much!

Shawn is up in the tree cutting branches down. It was crazy!!! Especially when the wind would pick up and the tree would shift from side to side.

Happy birthday Kyle!! He's 2 and terrible!!! The poor boy was so sick on his birthday... but he just got worse and worse. He wouldn't even eat this brownie he was so sick... He loved blowing out his candles!!!

I was excited to spend some time at Briana's house We played with their dogs, went to the park and had fun at Ryan's parent's pool, relaxing in the hot tub...

We took the kids to the carnival when Briana came to town and although it was windy and chilly the kids had a great time!!!

We didn't see grandpa very much because he is so busy... but we did get to see him at the Ice King a few times.

Amber is so cute with her kids! Connor is such a sweetie and Kyle loved playing with his cousins!

My murals have really started this year off with a bang. I painted this in the bathroom in the Ice King. We did a total bathroom makeover and it turned out great!!!

WOW, IT'S BEEN SO LONG!!!

WITH VERY LITTLE EXPLINATION.

Kyle and I went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Robinson in California. We had a blast! My mom and Jeremiah, Amber and her kids came and stayed with us and then we all traveled back to Arizona for the remainder of our trip.

Aunt Karen came to see us at Grandma's house and the kids played together! It was so fun!!!

One big happy family group!

CONGRATULATIONS JULIE AND CHRIS!!! Liberty is beautiful!!! We're so excited for you guys!!!

Liberty was 6lbs 3ozs and 18in long. Great job Julie!!!

Well folks, life is great! We love this time of year when the birds start chirping, the snow starts melting and taxes are due!!! Yippee... what a great time of year! Seriously! I actually like to do my taxes. If I owed anything then it would be crappy but I never do... and call me crazy but I kinda like imputing all the info into turbo tax!

So things are awesome except that Kyle is sick and has had an eternally long lasting cold! Poor kid hacks up his lungs all day long!

I've got a list of ways I that helped me to know that Kyle was getting sick... Here they are in order from most obvious reason to least obvious reason...

1. Kyle fell asleep in his high chair... That has never happened! I was stunned and knew something was not right...

He didn't even eat his food!

2. Kyle's equilibrium was off and he hit his head on the table... Normally he's on the table and I say, "Kyle you're gonna fall. GET DOWN!" But I couldn't even say that... he hit his head while sitting on a chair at the table... WEIRD!

3. Normally Kyle is pretty social... but lately he just wants to sit in closets by himself... or in this case he wants to sit in really small doll houses in the closet.

4. The last reason that I knew Kyle wasn't feeling well...

He never leaves his socks on! At night we have to put footie pj's on him so he won't take off his socks... but lately he leaves one on!

Who is this child? I don't even recognize him!!!

Ok, I do... I recognize the adorable face, big brown eyes and funny long hair... but really I miss my healthy child and want him back!!!

Kyle loves boxes... he loves to be dragged around in them!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!! WE HAD A GREAT CHRISTMAS!!! We are so blessed to live by Shawn's family and had fun playing games with Shawn's them during the Zaugg Christmas get together!!! Christmas Eve we enjoyed ourselves by sitting in the hot tub, going out to eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant, and passing out plates of goodies to our friends! Then Christmas morning dressed in our new Christmas PJ's we got off to a relaxed start since Kyle is to young to care about presents of Santa. Then the day after Christmas... TODAY we have spent with Auntie Bran and Uncle Mike! What a blast!!! It's been a great weekend!!!

Well my posts are getting fewer and further between!!! Sorry it's getting harder to update because I don't go to the library in this cold weather as much! People tease me that I am living in a black hole... w/o cable or internet and they might be right!!! But for right now it's by choice... they're not a priority!

We've been surprisingly busy these last few months. Through it all I've loved watching Kyle grow up! He is hilarious! His new thing is his, "SAD FACE" which is so sad... its funny! Some how even when I am mad at him his fat protruding lip makes me smile and changes my mood!

Arizona was fabulous! I missed my family the moment I got in the car to drive home! All of you who live by your mom's and dads... brothers and sisters... be grateful! You are truly lucky!

Wow it has been so busy these last few weeks! I finished some paintings that I put in the fair... I was out for a week with strep and the flu... we tore off and re-roofed the house (that was a huge task!) and now I am busy with canning! It has been fun and overwhelming at the same time! I have enjoyed this time of year though... preparing for the long winter is hard work but it feels great when its done!

He will climb into anything and loves to make a mess!

He played with this for an hour... despite the mess mom loved the free time!

We get creative with entertainment since his attention span is super short!

WHAT A BLAST! We packed so much into our two week trip to Connecticut! Kyle and I had a rough time on our way out but it only made our adventure more fun!!! We ended up getting stuck in Dallas because of thunderstorms and the airline put us up in a hotel! Kyle slept great so mom did too! We are so blessed with such good friends and it was awesome to see everyone!Thank-you all for being so hospitable we loved our trip!!!

Wow, I've been terrible this summer at updating my blog! I'm not even going to try to explain what's been going on! Hopefully I will do better when summer is over!
I've been giving art lessons to my niece nephews... Kyle has loved spending time with them!

These are Kyle's favorite things! Sticking his bum in the air... jumping on the tramp... playing with balls, and he loves his blankets! He's just loving them all at once in this picture!

Sometimes I wonder if he feels trapped behind all these bars!

Oh how tender... that's his favorite stuffed animal! He is so funny... he insists on having a blanket of stuffed animal leave his crib with him when he gets up from naps!

Pioneer day celebrations! It was so fun to be with my neighbor buds!

Kyle has no fear! He just went after all the goats at the petting zoo!

We love animals...except when they try to bite our hands off!

This summer we've gone to different parks for lunch... this is our favorite one! Kyle loves the dinosaur!

We all had so much fun at pool with auntie Bran and Avrie... but we missed Rich and his broken leg!

The 4th of July was so fun!!! Kyle was dazed 'cause we woke him up for the fireworks! Thankfully we didn't have to go far!

Ottley Family, Derrick and Heather, thanks for spending the fourth with us! We loved every minute of it!

We got to go to Arizona for Briana's wedding and after we went to visit Shawn's grandparents. Kyle loved this singing and dancing dog!

While we were there we visited Oatman, Arizona. There were wild donkeys roaming around everywhere! This one said hello to us while we were in the car!

Kyle loved how friendly they were.

He also loved g-ma and g-pa's pool! Especially when daddy was in it!

Kyle sobbed in the car everywhere we went... I'm sure you can imagine how our 10 hour drive home was!

We eat at some great places with G-ma and G-pa Shinn! We sure loved visiting with them! (And really, the shirt doesn't lie... poop hapens!)

Kyle loved to climb the hearth at their house... even though he knew he wasn't supposed to!

We swam in the pool a lot! It was so relaxing!

Shawn met us in Phoenix for the wedding! It was Beautiful! Congrats lovebirds!!! (I'll post more pics of the wedding when I get some!)

When I was visiting my family we went to the pool... Kyle loved the water slide!

This is what it looked like a 6 weeks ago... it's grown a ton in the hot weather! There's beans broccoli, brussel sprouts, lettuce, carrots, spinach and potatoes! In another square foot garden I have strawberries, jalapenos, corn and cucumber. We can't wait for the harvest!

Wow! It’s not even summer yet... and we’ve had a blast! So much has happened since my last post... so here are a few updates!!!

Our Nephew Logan graduated from high school and Kyle and I got to go to the big party!!! They had the biggest subway sandwich there that I have ever seen!!!
There's a new thing I have gotten into... rollerblading with Kyle! I push him in the jogging stroller that Grandma and Grandpa Shinn got for us two Christmas’ ago. Myself, Heather and my friend Rebecca roll together and I love it!!!
We’ve been camping with our friend Derrick and our house mate Heather. The Vehicles got some off-roading bumps and bruises but after the rain stopped we had a great time!
My friends Heidi and Jay came out to visit from Indiana to get sealed in the temple and it was awesome to see them! Their little guy Mason is so cute...and we had fun riding horses and playing together! CONGRATS GUYS!!!

So, I'm really behind on my pictures and there is a slew of them that I need to add. The problem was they should have come before these! But... I figured that Some... out of order pictures... were better than no pictures at all! Two big events happened in the last month... Kiya's wedding and Kyle's first birthday!!! Both turned out great!

Kyle loved the car he got for his birthday... and all of the gifts he got from his friends...

Kiya's wedding was beautiful... and now the happy couple live in Connecticut! What a great place!!

This has year has flown by!!! I can’t believe that Kyle is almost 1 year old!!! He is getting so big and very mobile.

There have been a few new firsts in Kyle’s life:
1. He learned to walk a couple of weeks ago but in the last week he has really taken off
2. He got his first hair cut
3. Learned how to clap
4. Learned to wave when people wave at him
5. Learned to brush his hair… and daddy’s hair as well
6. He had his first m & m and his first sucker
7. Oh, he has learned to throw serious fits when he doesn’t get what he wants!!!

All these fun firsts have brought us JOY (some more than others) and we are excited to continue to watch him grow!

It has been a rough month and a half! We have all been sick which has been terrible and some of our symptoms haven't ever ended!!! Bummer!!! Another joy coupled with being sick is that Kyle is getting into everything!!! His favorite thing to do is to pull on the baby proofed cabinets and rattle them trying with all his might to get the doors opened! It is funny and kind of disturbing!!

10 MONTHS!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!

My baby is getting so grown up and loves to climb on everything! He loves to walk holding peoples hands... crawls up everything... and just gets around! Another GREAT thing is that Kyle has learned how to throw fits!!! Yea for me! My sweet boy really knows what he wants and when he doesn't get it he flips out.

He's throwing a fit because mom took the toothbrush away... what a sad face...

Kyle pulls the plug from the drain... and no matter how many times I put it back he pulls it again... and literally the moment he starts to play with the plug the bath is over! But does he care? NOPE!!! He just sits there and plays in the bath with no water.
